On November 12, 2024 we welcomed our newest Alliance member, the "Lab on a Chip" project team from Health Canada and the National Research Council. Nathalie Corneau, the project lead with Health Canada (far right of the photo) signed an Adhesion to our treaty on behalf of her team (and Teodor Veres, center of the photo, of the National Research Council), having been recognized by the Alliance for the way in which she works, engaging our Elders as experts in their fields and engaging with our communities as true and equal partners in her project. The Lab on a Chip project is creating new technology which will allow our communities to do laboratory-level analysis in their offices through the use of a simple device. In the future, communities will be able to conduct all manner of tests on our wild foods to identify contaminants and diseases impacting our food supply. The Wiiche'iwaymagon Alliance recognizes the importance of their work and more importantly, the respect they've shown to our communities and we welcome them, offering our full support as an Ally to us all. The Adhesion document will be bound to our Treaty, taking on the same life and becoming part of our commitment to each other and to the Creator.
